What To Make With Cauliflower

I don’t know what exciting plans you all have this weekend, but I have a date with this head of cauliflower. This photo doesn’t accurately show just how big this thing is, but it is the Thanksgiving turkey of cauliflowers. It arrived in my Farmhouse Delivery a few days ago and I’m determined to use up the whole thing… What do you like to make with cauliflower? Leave me and idea below… I’ll pick my favorite and feature it here next week… Here are some cauliflower favorites I’ve made before: Roasted Cauliflower & Hazelnut Salad Roasted Cauliflower with Rasins & Capers Cauliflower Crust Pizzas, version 1 and version 2

5 Kale Dinners Recipe

In case you weren’t getting enough kale in your life… This week, I was thrilled to contribute to Food 52’s Halfway to Dinner series. The challenge was to make a few bunches of kale stretch into 5 nights of relatively simple meals. You don’t have to twist my arm to cook kale so it’s a challenge I gladly accepted. (Although after “week-of-greens” I’m pretty sure my husband Jack is out eating fried chicken somewhere…)

8 Eggless Mango Recipes To Use Up Ripe Mangoes Edible Garden

Once 4-5 mangoes were peeled, they’d cut out bit-sized cubes from all sides and taste as they go. Some mangoes would naturally be sweeter than the others but the cut pieces were always uniformly mixed together so nobody had to have just average-tasting mangoes that day. My family has a lot of mango lovers. I am a famous one with lots of stories from when I was a toddler and my love for the fruit....

Apple Mimosas Butternut Baked Eggs Recipe

Thanksgiving has become an odd holiday for us. During the first years that Jack and I were together, we traveled to visit family for every single holiday. It took us a while to realize that Thanksgiving weekend air travel is the worst of them all. So now we have a tradition of staying home with no real tradition. One year we stayed in and made risotto. The year after that we had a friends-giving (before they were called that)....

Baking these soft, chewy apple oatmeal cookies allowed me to cross off #1 on my fall checklist: fall baking! Now that we’ve moved back to Chicago and are experiencing fall to its fullest, I have all sorts of fall activities I want to do. I can’t wait to go apple picking, to carve pumpkins, and more! Autumn Farmhouse Salad Recipe

I have a love/hate relationship with farro. It takes forever to make, and quinoa is quicker, but the chewy, nutty grains bring a real heartiness to this not-wimpy fall salad. The catch is that you have to pre-plan for farro – it’s easiest to make a big batch and keep it around all week. I’m not usually that organized, but I happened to have made farro the day before my Farmhouse vegetables arrived, so here we are… a farro salad with more veggies than could fit onto the subject line of this post....

Best Homemade Brownies Recipe

For years, I couldn’t seem to find a recipe for brownies that met my standards. Anytime I made homemade brownies, I wanted them to be just like the ones I ate as a kid – super fudgy, moist, and chocolaty, with crispy edges and crackly tops. But the thing is, these brownies didn’t come from a recipe. We always made them from a box. Nowadays, I prefer to bake from scratch, but no brownie recipe I tried could live up to the chocolate brownies of my childhood....

Breakfast Panzanella Recipe

If you caught Monday’s post, you might have noticed that I made a pretty big panzanella. I think it looked a little smaller in the photos, but it was truly a massive amount of food, especially since there’s just two of us here. As we were cleaning up after that dinnertime photo shoot, I was storing away containers full of leftovers and I said to Jack (half joking), “are you ready to have panzanella for breakfast tomorrow?...
